The Croods is a visually stunning animated comedy-adventure set in a colorful, primeval era known as the Croodaceous period. The stubborn family patriarch, Grug, believes that fear keeps you alive and change is always bad, forcing his family—wife Ugga, rebellious teenage daughter Eep, goofy son Thunk, and feisty Gran—to spend their lives huddled inside a dark cave. However, Eep craves exploration and freedom. When a devastating earthquake destroys their home, the family is forced out into a world filled with fantastical creatures and perilous landscapes. They meet Guy, an inventive and forward-thinking young wanderer who warns them that an apocalyptic shift is coming. As Guy introduces the grounded family to novel concepts like fire and shoes, Grug must overcome his stubbornness and learn to trust new ideas to lead his loved ones toward safety and a brighter future.
